The Client
Following a stock transfer from Sefton Council, One Vision Housing, the founding member of The Sovini Group, set out to be a great landlord and be the best at everything they do. Founded in 2011 the group incorporates 12 members, providing property management services and development solutions for mutual benefit to all members, customers and stakeholders with no dependency on Government Subsidy. With an aging Desktop estate, and the approaching deadline for the discontinuation of Win 7 Pro, The Sovini Group appointed TGC to embark upon a hardware replacement program across multiple locations across the Northwest of England.
The Challenge
The Sovini Group relied on a mix of legacy HP and Dell Desktops running Windows 7. This aging desktop estate was suffering from degraded performance and increased risk of hardware failure. The discontinuation of Microsoft Windows 7 support also meant that devices would be susceptible to virus and ransomware attacks which could disrupt business and have a devastating and costly impact on the firm’s IT Services and ability to operate.
Stewart Tulloch, IT Service Desk Manager for The Sovini Group, initiated a desktop replacement modernisation program to improve the performance, reliability and longevity of the firm’s Desktop and Laptop estate whilst upgrading to the latest Windows 10 operating system.
The Solution
After evaluating a number of potential options including technology from Dell and Lenovo, Stewart Tulloch selected TGC and HP as the partner and vendor of choice.
HP’s ProDesk, ProBook and ZBook technology met the technical, security and support criteria for today and the future whilst providing the best value for money.
We chose to partner with TGC because of their ability to provide a solution that would benefit The Sovini Group. The Result
The Sovini Group modernised the majority of their desktop estate for 303 users and the engagement between both companies and the excellent proactive support from TGC have helped deliver our requirements right from the start. With the impending Windows 7 end of Support, TGC where supportive in ensuring our own timescales where achieved, and just as importantly with minimal impact to our end users.
